"A well-blended and stylish choir sing an interesting range of sometimes little-heard music, including a premiere recording of Richard Pantcheff's "Behold, the days cometh". The acoustic of Merton College Chapel, Oxford, gives a lovely bloom to the sound, especially in the atmospheric unaccompanied pieces by Tallis and Poulenc. Perhaps the highlights for me were the extracts from Howells' Requiem- beautifully combining poise and passion. Choral music buffs will note that the conductor, Matthew O'Donovan and one of the bass soloists, David Wright, have gone on to be members of the fine up-and-coming ensemble Stile Antico."
